Quiet and appeasing Alex finally comes out of her people-pleasing shell in a rare act of bravery, revealing for the first time that she is queer. Unfortunately, before she can fully process this revelation, a fierce and deadly pandemic sweeps the globe. Her once hopeful love interest, Taylor, a gentle but hurt non-binary queer has been used to living life alone. They quickly learn being a loner is no longer an option in this dystopian world and must figure out where they belong in order to survive. Will Alex or Taylor survive long enough to find out who they are in this new world, or fade out with the old?
