Hanratty’s (also called Aech) love for the moving image started when their older brother said, “wanna see a magic trick?” He then showed them how to shoot stop motion on their dad’s DV cam using a cookie, the kitchen counter, and the rec/stop button.

Best. Magic. Trick. Ever.

Fast forward a decade and Aech graduated from Hunter College with a degree in Film Studies. Since then, they’ve worked in digital media video production for companies such as BuzzFeed, Real Simple, Food Network, NYTCooking, Dot Dash, and many more. They’ve also done work for musicians such as GEMOLOGY, The Darling Sounds, Case Closed, and The AlliYance. They’ve also written and directed a mini series titled What Remains and have edited various shorts such as Alpha.

When not working, you can find Aech perfecting their woodworking/building crafts, gaming, or just hanging with their cat, T-Bone, in Los Angeles, CA.
