Hanratty

Hanratty (also know by Aech) has held many hats over their years in the industry from producer to writer, director to editor. A Brooklyn born and raised New Yorker, Aech has been obsessed with filmmaking since their brother showed them how to do stop motion using a cookie and their dad’s camcorder at 7 years old. Their brother called it “magic” and to this day, they don’t believe he was wrong.

After graduating from Hunter College with a degree in Film studies, they went on to hit millions of views with their video work for various digital media companies such as BuzzFeed, Real Simple, The New York Times, and more.  They’ve produced, directed, and edited interviews with the likes of Drew Barrymore, Marie Kondo, Kristen Bell, and more.

Aech now owns and operates a boutique independent, queer production company, 196 Productions, that works on a range of media from commercials to narratives. They are proud to announce their first feature film, Affirmation, in affiliation with PRUductions, starring Chris Mulkey (Twin Peaks), Christopher Stanley (Mad Men), and Jared P-Smith (Skinemax.)

Aech has produced, written, and directed a 5 episode mini series “What Remains” which  aims to release in 2026. In the editing world, their shorts have been accepted into various festivals such as the NY Short Film Festival, Coney Island Film Festival, the Las Vegas Filipino Short Film Festival, Short to the Point, and LA International Film Festival. When not working, you can find Aech perfecting their woodworking/building crafts, gaming, or just hanging with their cat, T-Bone, in Los Angeles, CA.
